Chip Miller grew up near the town of Hebron, Ohio, just a few miles from Travis. Chip was first introduced to beekeeping during school trips and personal visits to Dawes Arboretum which had a display hive in a butterfly garden. He learned more through an uncle who maintained many hives.
As a lawyer, Chip has spent the past decades finding solutions to irretractable problems, sometimes through negotiation, sometimes in courtrooms across the country. He has represented land-users such as builders, developers, associations and landfills before zoning bodies and in courts. He has attended countless public meetings on behalf of clients to educate government officials and the public about his clients’ purposes to bridge difference and create solutions.
He has also had spiritic interactions with the Power Siting Board and the Public Utilities Commission, and became an expert on the benefits and detriments of H.B. 6, when he engineered modifications to that law.
Chip’s work has also taken him into the field of ESG, where he has focused on ensuring ESG programs align with the underlying business interests and shareholder returns. His recognition of the impact ESG has on market capitalization, good will, and shareholder appeasement, makes him extremely cognizant of when business interests can align with these goals.
Chip is excited about what Wind and Sky Apiaries can do for and with energy companies. Industrial scale distribution of apiaries on solar fields and other sites can save the honeybee, help the environment, produce a natural sweetener, and co-use the land, all while improving ESG and PR of the energy companies where the agrivoltaics will occur with no impact on the primary use of the land. Solutions where everyone wins are as sweet as honey.
